Installed Minimum RH 9 and cannot upgrade now

Hello everybody,

I recently installed Red Hat 9, but only the made a 'minimum installation'. Now I would like to upgrade the installation and add new features, but I cant.
I tried to re-install the whole thing, but my computer would not boot from the CD any more. I go to SETUP, change the boot sequence, but the computer would simply ignore the CD (the light of the CD does not even go on at boot) and boot from the hard drive again.
I have no idea how to fix this, unless I just get a new hard-dirve.
Please help me if you know a solution to this problem.
Thank you very much for your time and advice.

Martin

maybe your cd-rom ide cables are messed up. is that a dual boot or just linux? if dual boot try to access cd form windoz otherwise open up th ebox and check the cables, there is nothing wrong with the hard drive. it must be the cables or the cd-rom

I do not think that the CD cables are messed up, because when I am in the minimal installation I can still mount the cd. Then I am able to browse it. I even see the 'autorun' file but I do not know how to start it.

ok then make a boot floppy with cdrom.img and then boot from it. it will bring up the cd and from there you can install a fresh copy
