Installed linux now my pc continually reboots
Last night i installed pc linux. After completing the install it automatically rebooted, but instead of grub or lilo starting it kept rebooting over and over. It would fire up normailly, telling me phoenix bios> then when it would detect /dev/hda and the dvd devices it would simply start over again. I reconfigured my bios to the following after it rebooted the first time.
1st boot device>hd
2nd boot device>cdrom
3rd boot device>usb flashdrive
4th boot device>3.5" floppy drive.
Thinking it was the problem I had with pclinux os install with grub or lilo not showing up, I attempted to install and suceeded until it a reboot was vector linux. Just as a precaution since i am a newbie I tried suSE 10.0 (with it gui install it did the same thing as the previous two distros.
My hardware is as followed:
Shuttle Motherboard with phoenix bios
AMD athlon 2200
1gig ram
4x dvd burner
40x hitachi dvd rom
soundblaster audigy 24bit sound card
eth0 is configured by dhcp hooked up to a 5mbps cable modem
Any ideas or insights would greatly be appreicated.
