Unhappy Installation problem Redhat 8.0 with scsi

installation problem for RedHat 8.0

There is a problem while installing RedHat linux 8.0 on my system . My system hangs up at the screen , where i can see -

loading sym53c8xx driver...

I do have a scsi hard drive in my system and this is the first time I try to install Linux on a scsi.

I tried to use Linux dd drvblock.img thinking that my scsi drive was too old and or not compatible with the existing drivers being loaded with the installation CD.

what can be the problem and how can i go about solving it?

Have you used this hardware before?
Do you know that it works?
Try to find an IDE drive, install to it then see if you can access the scsi drives from a known good, clean ide install.
I know it sounds like a lot of work but if you work step by step you can figure out exacly what's wrong.

Tools to use:

lspci
dmesg
modprobe

I have used this hardware for Windows 2000 with no problem. I want to erase Windows and Install Linux.

At the screen that hangs, I press ALT F3 to show me the actuall error and it says
*module (s) to insert sym53c8xx usb-uhci
*module (s) usb-uhci not found
*going to rmmod usb-storage

And nothing else happens.

Thanks for the help guys.

can't say anything for sure, but try disabling "plug and play" from bios and also remove any hardware using the usb port.
