installation of fedora core 6 on compaq presario
 

Hi
I have a compaq presario sr1030il
with the following specifications
Intel P4 2.6 Ghz
256 MB Ram
80 GB Hard Disk

I have been trying to install fedora core 6 on it but i get the error

I had previously tried to install fedora core 5 too but was unsuccessful. However the Turbo Linux CD provided by compaq as well as Redhat 9 ran successfull on my system


could someone please help me in rectifying this error ...

Use "acpi=off" kernel option. I had a same problem in my compaq preserio box. This option solved the problem.
