Install with PDC20276 (MB Fasttrack 133)

I'm trying to install Slackware 9.1. The drive I need to install to is connected to an onboard raid controller. When I boot for install (using ataraid.i) it detects the controller but prints a message saying "NEITHER IDE PORT ENABLED." I've been searching around and found that this problem can be resolved by compiling the kernel/driver with "CONFIG_PDC202XX_FORCE=y" but I can't compile a new kernel because I can't even get the system installed.

Are there any other ways to get my drives to work for the install?
