please see if you can help me

i want to install wi-fi card model proxim 8420-wd on ibm x-20 laptop

i look in the internet and its just got worst

i down load from agere the packe of wl_lkm_722_abg.tar.gz

and when i unpaked the gz file

tar -zxvf wl_lkm_722_abg.tar.gz

i got stuck try to run ./install

or even ./build but gor error message about "make config"

there is no file as config when unpacking the gz file

i m kind of new user in the linux world i got to make this card working

if you can be specific about the step

1. what i need to download ( which files )
2. extract them to where
3. add the card

1. Download the package to your home directory, or some other convenient location.
2. Extract the files as you have done. THis should produce a new directory, within your home directory, in which the files are contained. An easy way to do this, is to right click on the tar.gz file and select "extract here" - if the option is available
3. Read the README.wlag49 file. It contains extensive instructions. In particular, system and kernel requirements. You need to read this before proceeding with an installation.
