Install Realtek AC'97 drivers/modules

Hi there,

I'm trying to install the AC'97 drivers from the Realtek website.
I'm having quite a few problems with it work "out of the box", I can't have more sound then once, hence why I want to install the official drivers.

I download the drivers (Realtek website) and then unzip them, i untar it, configure it. but on make it says:
passing arg 3 of pointer to function makes integer from pointer without a cast
/home/buck1/sound/alsa-driver-1.0.4/kbuild/../drivers/serialmidi.c:325: error: too many arguments to function
make[3]: *** [/home/buck1/sound/alsa-driver-1.0.4/kbuild/../drivers/serialmidi.o] Error 1
make[2]: *** [/home/buck1/sound/alsa-driver-1.0.4/kbuild/../drivers] Error 2
make[1]: *** [_module_/home/buck1/sound/alsa-driver-1.0.4/kbuild] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/lib/modules/2.6.10-1.770_FC3/build'
make: *** [compile] Error 2
Oh dear D:
I have no idea how to fix this or anything
Ive looked for an RPM to make it possibly a little bit more easy but no luck, my motherboard is a Gigabyte GA7S748-L if that helps.

Any help at all is very appericated.

EDIT: After hours of google'ing it just got links to people with problems with LAN progblems :i, i'm I the only one with this error? Its so fustrating! Someone told me (Before going offline) about GCC arguments might be wrong, is there a way I change the arguments.

I tried make -i and it said it compiled successfully (It skipped snd-serialmidi.ko) and wouldn't make install. I really want to get this working, its making me think of going back to Windows. :/

Forget those drivers. Use the kernel's ones instead.

They should be compiled by default. You just have to run alsaconfig as root, then alsamixer to adjust volume.
