install epson 1000 ics printer

i just wanted to know if anyone has had ANY success on installing this printer under linux. i have been searching for months for a solution and have yet to come up with any result.

i'm running ubuntu on my desktop and os x on my laptop (and i have an airport express). i tried using gimp-print and foomatic from and i have yet to find any progress. although a couple of the epson stylus drivers caused some sort of response from my printer, it was by no means "normal" behavior.

i was just wondering if anyone had any success with this printer before i shelled out money to buy a new one. so far, i have seen none.

Usually, the best way to configure printers is through the CUPS webmin at localhost:631 in the address bar of your browser.
