install DAT on RED HAT 3
Hi,
I have installed a red hat 3 EL
I have this scsi card:
scsi0 : Adaptec AIC7XXX EISA/VLB/PCI SCSI HBA DRIVER, Rev 6.2.36
<Adaptec 3960D Ultra160 SCSI adapter>
aic7899: Ultra160 Wide Channel A, SCSI Id=7, 32/253 SCBs
scsi1 : Adaptec AIC7XXX EISA/VLB/PCI SCSI HBA DRIVER, Rev 6.2.36
<Adaptec 3960D Ultra160 SCSI adapter>

Make sure the SCSI tape module st is loading.
The tape device will be /dev/st0 & /dev/nst0
To check the drive enter this command.
mt -f /dev/st0 status

result
Hi,
so I beleave this result is good?
SCSI 2 tape drive:
File number=0, block number=0, partition=0.
Tape block size 0 bytes. Density code 0x50 (no translation).
Soft error count since last status=0
General status bits on (41010000):
BOT ONLINE IM_REP_EN

Is the SCSI controller recognizing the DAT?
Is linux recognizing the SCSI controller and tape drive?
Check to make sure the SCSI modules are loading.
