insmod ide-generic fails if done on startup

Dear all,

my Suse 9.3 does not recognize the DVD drive by default, but I can help this by doing
insmod /lib/modules/

But, if I try to make this on boot, and write the exactly same line to /etc/init.d/boot.local, it does not work, saying "unknown symbol in module".

How can I make it work?

Thanks for your help in advance,

Try this...

Perhaps insmod after init 5.
I.O.W. after boot - not sure where this is in Suse though.

Hope this helps
