Insert tape in Drive

Hi All,

I have a situation where we do backups to a tape drive offsite. Now this tape drive has ejected the tape and its just sitting in the 'entry chute'. There is also no one onsite that can push the tape in for me. Is there a way in Linux ( Centos ), that can 'load' the tape back into the drive for me ?

Cheers

Paull

Ahh, the age old problem of actually needing man power. unfortunately, once the tape is out of the bay, it no longer has any way of being re-inserted without someone physically pushing it back in. during the process of ejecting the tape, the drive pushes it as far as it can (and then some) with the ejecting mechanism, and therefore cannot pull it back in. sorry, but looks like you'll have to get someone out there to put it back in.
