One thing, though. You might want to check that (1) you have HPLIP installed on your system and (2) that the installed version (which may be old) includes support for the Officejet 6000.
If HPLIP is installed, there should be a directory
/usr/share/hplip/data/models containing a file
models.dat. If you
grep "HP Officejet 6000 Wireless Printer" models.dat that will tell you. And, of course, the "hplip" directory might be who-knows-where depending upon where your distribution installed it (
locate hplip can be handy).
If that's missing, you may want to go to
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/index.html and get the current version (3.12.4); yeah, it's a pain to download but it might be worth it. If you distribution has a package that might be an alternative.
