How can we find out the hardware information about the usb devices or other peripherals like PS2 keyboard, mouse, webcam etc? Is there a command to find out the exact hardware inventory information? lsusb or lshw doesn't give descriptive hardware information like manufacturer etc.
lsusb -v is descriptive. Are there similar stuff to find out other peripherals like serial, ps2 etc. udev provides alerts but finding it difficult to match the pattern. Is there anything under /sys, /proc filesystme through which i can get. I see keyboard, mouse under input devices but vendor information is missing.
i think you were lucky enough to get that much info about your keyboard in lshw(i dont even get that ).. actually i meant that in general it shows the vendor name for peripheral devices like ethernet, sound, graphics etc etc.
