Increase non-lvm filesystem
 
I have a VM with one hard disk sdc 20GB. I used fdisk to create a /dev/sdc1 primary partition of 20GB (not LVM) mounted under /data. Now, I increased the size of the virtual disk from 20GB to 40GB. What are my options of increasing /dev/sdc1 to 40GB (remember this is not a LVM)?

I think I found an answer here http://www.timoudin.com/2009/12/19/r...virtual-drive/. Tried it on a demo disk and it works. Just wondering how safe it is.
