imac completely crashes booting ubuntu 8.04

i got an imac g3 i can get specs if needed.... and i installed ubuntu 8.04 from the alternate cd. the install couldn't of been smother...

then i goto reboot and load up it starts to boot it says "loading system, please wait" then the whole thing just powers completely off and im baffled

so i boot the recovery console from the disk and install the latest kernel... same bull crap...

please help

Distribution: Switched to regualr Ubuntu, because I don't like KDE4, at all. Looks like vista on crack.....

Are you using a ppc version of Ubuntu ? The imac g3 is ppc based, not intel.

of course... it wouldnt even get that far if that was my problem....
