ifconfig errors

Three of my servers are showing errors from ifconfig.

For example:-

RX packets:1856184 errors:72 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:73

What doe these mean, and how can I best trace the problem ?

TIA
Dave

Those are transmission errors, i.e. packets that arrived corrupted and had to be resent. It's quite normal to receive some errors during real-world operation, that's how tcp works (retransmitting lost or corrupt packages).
