Idiots guide to DVB Nova-t

Anyone know how to/or of a complete idiots guide to setting up Happauge Nova-t PCI, in particular aswell tuning to Scottish Blackhill Digital Broadcasts? I've got the correct modules installed. at least I can insert them and there's a device using them, but beyond that I'm looking a bit lost.

I've googled etc.. but I can't seem to find a coherent all in one place guide from making sure you've got the right device in the file system to actually watching something. Any suggestions?

Maybe not exactly what you want, but a pretty long thread with some success reported:

http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?s...=2397&hl=linux

In general that forum has a lot of useful info for linux users, although .au specific. There's also the forums and documentation at http://www.linuxtv.org . See also the kernel documentation in Documentation/dvb.

I haven't tried this card myself, but plan to when I get the time.

Cheers, I'll have a look over it and give it another go at the weekend.

Well I seem to be getting somehwere, now have the error when I use the linuxtv scan app,

scanning uk-BlackHill
using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0'
main:1882: FATAL: failed to open '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0': 2 No such file or directory

Which indeed I do not have a /dev/dvb. Am I missing a symlink to somewhere else or perhaps haven't installed something?

Been googling like mad trying to find an answer - the ones I've found split into two camps - "oh, here's a link, look here" (which invariabley leads to another link to another link etc..) without anyone saying what it error really means or - "it works for me, try this link" and round and round we go again.

Anyone know for sure ? :)

Here's my lsmod if it helps with (what I think) are the relevant mods if it helps

Just pointing out a similar problem in this thread:
