Ide Cdrom

Hello all,

I have a problem with my IDE CDROM in kernel 2.6
It won't read it anymore.

I get following error:
# mount -t iso9660 /dev/hda /cdrom
mount: /dev/hda is not a valid block device

Are there any specific modules I have to load or compile? It always worked in 2.4 but since I've migrated, it doesn't.
I didn't enable /dev support in the kernel because it says it's obsolete and I don't have scsi emulation because Linus says it's not needed in 2.6

Try,

# mount -t iso9660 /dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom

Might help.

EDIT** Now that i think about it, your system is probably set up for the 2.4 series - meaning, your fstab and such will want that /dev support. Might want to recompile with that supported and try to mount again.

How can I change my fstab accordingly? If /dev is obsolete I don't want it either.
