IDE CD writer
I am having trouble with my IDE CD burner.
I understand that first I need to disable the IDE support. Something like ( append = "hdc=ide-scsi" ). Where exactly do I put this in /boot/grub/menu.lst ? I am using SUSE 8.2. I also entered: ln -sf /dev/scd0 /dev/cdrecorder I then edited fstab: /dev/cdrecorder /media/cdrecorder auto ro,moauto, user, exec 0 0 The K3b software still just sees it as a reader not a writer. I found a step by step on SUSE's site but it was for 8.0 and alas the menus have changed on YAST2. HELP!!! |
here's a good explanation, the last bit has to do with xcdroast, but the first part explains the drive and grub setup http://seismo.ethz.ch/linux/xcdroast.html

Thanks, I'm printing it off right now.
