IDE and SATA disks

Hi,

I've installed a Suse 9.2 server on a SATA disk. This disk is connected to a PCI-card controller (my motherboard does not have native support for SATA). Now I want to put some (P)ATA disks on the IDE channels. But my comp tries to start from these ide disks and doesn't consider the SATA disk (which holds my bootloader).

I'm wondering if it is possible to transfer the bootloader to one of the IDE-disks and still startup from the SATA disk?

Regards
Frits

Welcome to LQ.

You could do that but it would probably be easier just to disable booting from the ide channels in the BIOS.
