Icy Box IP-110StU3 on NEC Corporation uPD720200 USB 3.0 Host Controller

Hi everybody,

as mentioned in the subject I want to connect an Icy Box IP-110StU3 (Sata to USB3 bridge) to an usb3 port (NEC uPD720200 USB 3.0 Host Controller).

The USB 3.0 Controller is recognized and I can access an USB stick on it
Code:

USB controller: NEC Corporation uPD720200 USB 3.0 Host Controller (rev 03) (prog-if 30 [XHCI])
Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx+
Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- INTx-
Latency: 0, Cache Line Size: 32 bytes
Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 16
Region 0: Memory at fe8fe000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=8K]
Capabilities: <access denied>
Kernel driver in use: xhci_hcd

If I connect the Icy Box to a different USB (2.0) port the /var/log/messages shows the following, but I cannot access any drive connected to it:
Code:

usb 5-2: new full-speed USB device number 2 using uhci_hcd
usb 5-2: new full-speed USB device number 3 using uhci_hcd
usb 5-2: new full-speed USB device number 4 using uhci_hcd
usb 5-2: new full-speed USB device number 5 using uhci_hcd

If I connect the Icy Box to the USB 3.0 (uPD720200) controller I can see nothing in /var/log/messages.

Does anybody have an idea how to connect the Icy Box through the USB 3.0 port?

Additional Info:
My System is Archlinux x86_64 (up to date) with kernel 3.3.1-1-ARCH
Mainboard: MSI MS-7238
CPU: Intel Core2 6300
RAM: 5GB
(do you need something else?)

kind regards

ToK
