IBM optical Mouse trouble

When installing Red Hat 8.0 , the operating system detected my IBM optical mouse to be a 3 button usb mouse. The mouse was working i was able to use the mouse the throughout installation. However once the installation finished, and i rebooted for the first time a mouse optical light goes off, and a program call Kudzu open asking me that the Arrow USB mouse has been disabled when i attempt to configure it back or even skip kudzu the mouse still remains unfunctional??? I am new to linux is there a way i can the mouse to work.

*PS * ON the first installation of Red Hat the mouse was working and even after installation on the desktop the mouse still worked. however after I reinstalled red Hat for more options and packages the mouse will fail after the first reboot.
