I want to run a game on Debian LXDE whezzy with Intel Graphics 910GM

Helo,

A couple of minutes ago I downloaded a game from the internet called Warsow, its completly free, not a pirated game. And Im actualy new to debian, as I never used debian before. So as I was talking about the game, I downloaded it, and there were two executables,

- warsow.sh
- warsow.i386

And the rest are server and Windows executables.

I made those two files executable, and when I double clicked, nothing happened. Also I wanted to try the Windows .exe through wine, and nothing happened either. Can it be, that Im missing a couple of library? Or could it be, that I dont have the driver to my display driver? What am I doing wrong? Please help!

And I forgot to add,

Is the thread in the right place? As in, the sections of other stuff... you know... :D

I think software is more applicable than hardware,
Use the report button on your Original post, polity asking for it to be moved ( to Linux Software? ).

Now onto your 'problem'

I guess the best place to start would be the game's site, it should have some instructions for installation / launch.

indeed, they are here
http://www.warsow.net/wiki/InstallingWarsow

If you still have problems, post back with a little more detail on which Debian version you have.

But you might get better help in
http://www.warsow.net/forum/3

Because at the moment, I would be looking at installing and trouble shooting it at my end..
But chances are someone on that forum will have already "been there, done that, got the T-Shirt"

When you have to make file executable, then I suspect they were not meant to be executable.
I suspect you downloaded a windows version of the game, and one of those is probably a data file or support file. The sh file might be shell file.
Check the files with 'less' and 'file'.
A check of Warsow website does show one download with Windows + Linux, but I do not know why
they did that or what to do about it.
Not a hardware problem, see gaming, or Warsow specific help.
