Angry I tried to change my mouse, but....

Well,

All I wanted to do was switch from a generic 3-button mouse to a MS wheel mouse. The thing went all flaky on me! I went back to the 3-button driver with the new mouse, and it works except for the wheel. Ideas?

how did you go about switching the mice? more than likely you have tried this, but this is what I would do:

remove the old mouse
plug in the new mouse
run /usr/sbin/kudzu
use the menue to configure the new mouse
restart x.

kudzu may be somewhere else on your system, /usr/sbin is where redhat puts it.
