I tried to access my Macintosh HD and i got this error msg:
Error mounting /dev/sda2 at /media/mint/Macintosh HD1: Command-line `mount -t "hfsplus" -o "uhelper=udisks2,nodev,nosuid" "/dev/sda2" "/media/mint/Macintosh HD1"' exited with non-zero exit status 32: mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sda2,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so
Please can anyone help me with this? i really need to recover my data.
I understand that you disconnected the HDD from your Mac and connected it to a Mint system. Correct?
Can you open a terminal window, provoke the errror again, then follow the suggestion and type dmesg | tail in the terminal? Most likely there will be a helpful message related to the problem.
Thanks for responding, i'm working on same Macbook, i just made a bootable usb for Linux and trying to recuse my data from internal HD by this. And Thank God i did it. Yes i was struggling with the terminal and i got the solution.
Solution that worked for me:
So first of all, to be able to read mac drives in Ubuntu you need hfsprogs.
sudo apt-get install hfsprogs
Then i fixed my drive by this:
Run the following command (replacing XY with the correct device) to fix the drive:
sudo fsck.hfsplus -f /dev/sdXY
P.S now i'm facing an issue to move data to my external HD, these permissions are messing up. Can i copy/paste without terminal ? i install nautilus too but cant copy from my Ex HD.

You're posting conflicting information. Are you trying to copy TO your external hard drive or FROM it. Where on the hard drive (internal or external are you trying to copy to? If you are logged in as a normal user, you would almost always need root/admin permissions to copy TO a location outside your /home/user directory.
Sorry for the ambiguity. I was trying to recover data from my internal HD to external. The mistake i was doing is that i was not opening the destination as root. Now all is working good. And i'm able to move my data to external HD.
