Contact either Emulex or your SAN manufacturer for the correct drivers. If your version of Linux isn't supported by your SAN hardware, load a distro that is.

You could also Google for it. Lots of info out there:

Since you don't say what version of Debian, or what model HBA you're using, it's hard to give you more detailed info.

Yes...except for your HBA manufacturer. Have you contacted them yet?? And you still don't say what version of Debian you're using, or the brand of your HBA. Googling for the model number brings up Qlogic, Emulex, and HP HBA's...which one is it? It might help if you provided the information.

And if you're finding RPM's, you can convert it to a .deb with Alien.

It is an Emulex hba (LPe11002), and the version debian is lenny.
the problem with .rpm installation is that it has an
a script that verify the distro and if is not Suse nor redhat, it wont install.

What iīve found is http://sourceforge.net/projects/lpfcxxxx/ but i canīt find any documentation
that help to get it working.

Ok...as I suggested on the VERY FIRST ANSWER, you need to CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER. Both your SAN Vendor and the HBA vendor have drivers for any configuration they support, and will give you the link and docs.

If you are in an unsupported configuration, you're not going to find any docs on how to do it, since neither the SAN or HBA vendors want to support 10,000 different iterations of hardware/software/OS. That's why they have a limited amount of supported configurations.

Contact the vendor...talk with them. Otherwise, check their websites, and see what supported OS'es are on the list, and install one, and move forward.

the emulex guys told me the same, they only supported implementation is Suse and Redhat.
that why i came here.

The wierd thing, is that i already have install this escneario, with qlogic hba and it work perfect.
what isnt working here is emulex + debian

well thank you anyway.

Ok...QLogic isn't Emulex. They're totally different pieces of hardware, which is why one worked, and they other didn't. Either get a Qlogic card, or change OS.

Your HBA driver has to work with your kernel. If your vendor told you it won't work, IT WON'T. If you can convince them to give you the driver source, and make it work with Debian, then go for it.
