I need help with getting my airport card setup on an intel mac running fedora core 6

I've managed to install fedora core 6 on my intel mac, and it works great except for:

resolution, I need to set it to 1680x1050. but the highest system -> administration -> display will allow me to set it at is 1400x1050. Is there a way around this?

sound, this doesn't work. If there is some super-easy way to fix this then great. otherwise it doesn't matter as I don't need or use sound

internet, if I plug an ethernet cable into my computer I can connect to the internet just fine. but I can't use my airport card to connect to the internet. right now this computer dual boots into mac and fedora, in mac i can connect to the internet wirelessly, not in fedora. I'd really like to get my airport card working in fedora, Is this possibly? How do you do it?

can anyone help me here?

about the resolution

ok I did some snooping around and found that "/etc/X11/xorg.conf" can be edited by hand to change what I can't using the system menu. according to "". I tried adding

'Modes "1680x1050"' to the Display subsection of the Screen section. then logging out then logging back in. my computer said that it couldn't start X, and then took me to some sort of diagnostic thing. that got it back and working in 1400x1050. I know that editing that xorg.conf file works because I tried changing the res. via that method to 640x480, and it worked. I've tried changing the resolution via System -> Preferences -> Screen Resolution as well as System -> Administration -> Display plus editing "/etc/X11/xorg.conf". none of those ways will let me change it to 1680x1050, but i can switch between other resolutions like 640x480, 800x600, ... up to 1400x1050.

here's what my "/etc/X11/xorg.conf" file looks like:

# Xorg configuration created by system-config-display

frankly at this point I've given up hope of getting a perfect resolution, but I thought that this might be of some use to someone else. does anyone else happen to have any info regarding the airport?
