I need Ext3 file system recovery tools

Ok, so I was tampering with my computer to get to install Win98 in another disk... Not paying too much attention to it, it wiped out the partition table of one of my disks (the one which holds my /home partition!!)... After much struggling I finally could guess the old partition's values, thanks to the aid of gpart. Anyway, after a LLLOOONNNGGG disk scan it found only two partitions on the drive, since it will not recognize ReiserFS 3.6 partitions... That's Ok, I only had to guess boundaries of the Reirser one (the first partition). So I re-wrote the partition table with the guessed values and did a test. The ReiserFS partition was perfectly mounted and recognized, but not so the ext3 partitions. When I tried to mount those, the system would not recognize them, I tried to mount with -t ext3 mount flag and -t ext2 to no avail. Now my questions is this. Is there a program that I could use to try and retrieve as much information as I can from those partitions to then re-format them?

Thank you for any information.

On a side note... apparently (dunno why, though) I need to restore the superblock, but since e2fsck won't see the superblocks, how could I do that?

TIA again.
