I have Ubuntu 7.1 running on an Acer Aspire 4315. I bought a Brother DCP-165C printer, then downloaded the recommended driver. I extracted the driver, but I dont know where to put it. Please advise. Fred.

In answer to your original question, printer drivers are often installed to /usr/lib/cups/filter/ on your host PC. I'm not sure of the particulars for your distro and your printer, however.
