I Have Fixed The Nvidia Driver Problem!!

I have SuSE 8.1 but this fix my work for other disturbutions. This fix is quite simple but it is weird because when you reboot it seems to go back like it was before. I guess temperary is better than none at all. This is what I did:

1. I switch to boot mode 3
2. I found the directory where the actual driver file was (for me it was /lib/modules/2.4.19-4GB/kernel/drivers/video/NVdriver)
3. For some people the driver may be called nvidia.o but I don't know if they are the same thing (I asume they are).
4. After you find the driver file get in the same directory as it.
5. type "insmod ./NVdriver" or "insmod ./nvidia.o" depending on the driver file's name.
6. If you are in boot mode 3 type "startx" to start XWindows with your new graphics excelleration support.

The only problem is when you reboot its gone and Im still tring to figure out why.
I hope this helps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Becuase you have to add that module to /etc/modules .
echo nvidia >> /etc/modules that should do it.
Now every time you boot the module gets loaded

In suse you might get better results if you add the line 'alias char-major-195 nvidia' to /etc/modules.conf .
