Not sure what command you want but to see the queue, just open a terminal and type: lpq
To get the status type: lpstat -p; there are a variet of other commands and all these commanda for printing and obtaining information on printers from a terminal are readily available with a web search.

Sorry, no. It's clear in post #2 of one of those threads how to check things. You were also handed an lpstat command here...yet somehow you can't see either of those things??? You, personally, posted a command in post #18 showing you know how to work with CUPS, where the web interface is, the lpstat command, etc. After using Linux/Ubuntu/HP for eight years, you should be well aware of such things, yet you're now claiming ignorance and the inability to see what you, yourself posted???
Reported.

The OP knows the lpstat command (was given it previously), and has worked with Linux/CUPS for more than eight years now. Previous two accounts were quoted in my first reply. Good luck.

I'm at my wits end I guess. If I can't get it to work I guess I'll send it back. I got the HP because I thought they worked really good with Linux.

They do, as you well know after using them for many years. Since you've been spoon-fed commands, directed to pages (and posts) of your own where you asked similar questions, not sure what else you need. All you've said is you (somehow) don't know how to check CUPS (which you posted about before, so we know you do), don't have a command to run (when you were given the lpstat command at least three times, and once that YOU posted), and somehow don't know if your own system has wifi capability (when you posted before it did).
What, exactly, is the problem??? You, again, seemingly have done no research, won't look at anything, and expect us to spoon-feed you things to do...again...after you've been doing this for years. What command are you unclear about??? What did you read/research that you don't understand (again)?? Since you're a 'scientist', did you try doing any research (like a scientist would?) by putting something like "how to set up m209dwe on ubuntu" into a search engine?? Read anything like this???

I would appreciate it if YOU didn't reply to this thread anymore. I have no desire to reply to your type of commentary.

And we'd appreciate if you (as you've been told before) do actual research and post actual details/questions/problems.
Again: you've been working with Ubuntu and HP printers for eight years, and you've been spoon-fed things about HPLIP, CUPS, and lpstat in the past; why can't you go back to your (many) previous threads about such things and look up what you've done/tried in the past???

Did you read/understand what you posted??? You've got two print queues; are they for the same printer?? How did you set them up?? Neither is the model you posted about. Go back to your thread from years ago, where you asked about how to delete a printer queue:
https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...er-4175572109/
...and remove any that aren't what you need. Then go to your other printer thread here:
https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...879/page2.html
...and pay attention to it. Your printer is supported by HPLIP, you were handed instructions on how to set it up, with step-by-step commands. You are VERY well aware of HPLIP, CUPS, and how to configure an HP printer on Ubuntu. Claiming ignorance when you, yourself, posted the commands you're asking for and said that they WORKED in the past just doesn't work.
::EDIT::
As of 2021, HPLIP lists your exact model as being supported:
https://9to5linux.com/hp-linux-imagi...d-manjaro-20-2
Version 3.21.2 or above already have it for USB and wifi support. If you still have problems after eight years, it'd probably be best to get someone else to set it up for you, using the instructions you've been given/used before.

Please do not continue to hi-jack my thread here with your rude comments. I have no desire to reply to you and am not reading past your first sentence.

You still show zero effort. Your other two accounts got banned, and this one has been reported. Not sure why you can't show any effort/research of your own, despite being spoon-fed answers.
Claiming ignorance about something you've done for eight years (or more) makes zero sense...especially for a 'scientist'.

Answering isn't hijacking. You not paying attention continues to be the issue. Don't like it? Report button at the bottom, or go elsewhere.
