I do not have any more cdrom

I don't have any more /dev/cdrom, /dev/scd0 or /dev/sr0 : just because I recompiled my kernel in order to enable ide-scsi
now my burner (SAmsung) is on second IDE controller master and my dvd Pioneer is on slave.
I saw which had to be created devices with mknod but I don't know to use it. My distribution use devfs...

Can you help me ?

Hi Freenet,
After building your kernel, did you do a 'make modules;make modules_install', also,
See http://www.ussg.iu.edu/hypermail/lin...01.2/0253.html
It might give you some clues on the missing cd writer, and of course, a generic kernel build page to give you something to 'check off' as you go along, http://www.digitalhermit.com/linux/kernel.html
I hope this helps.
