I disabled my sound card

I was listening to some music with XMMS, when the sound suddenly got very tinny. So I checked to see if it was my speakers by trying it on headphones, still tinny. Then I wanted to know if it was XMMS, or my sound card that was causing the problem. So I opened "Soundcard Detection" and clicked on play a test sound, I didnt hear anything, so when it asked if I had heard anything, I said no. Ever since I clicked no, I have had no sound at all. XMMS wont play, the gAIM sound effects dont run, etc. I think that somehow I disabled my soundcard, how can I get it going again?

Can you post what kind of sound card are you using and if you are using OSS or ALSA and other system specs you think could be useful

In the Configure Soundcard screen it says the following:
___________________________________

Vendor: Cirrus Logic
Model: CS4614/22/24 [CrystalClear SoundFusion Audio Accelerator]
Module: cs46xx
___________________________________

I'm sorry, but that is all the information I know how to obtain. I hope that it is helpful.

Are you sure its the the computer, maybe your sound card is the one that is not working, if you have windows or other OS try listening to music with it and see if it works because Red hat its recognizing the sound card and it should work properly

Okay.. I checked with windows, sound was fine, I checked with root, and the sound worked. Then I logged back into my name and the sound worked perfectly, not even slightly tinny (I was correcting it by turning down the db's in the equalizer). Now it just went back to it's normal state of tinnyness, but I can fix it by rebooting.

THanks for your help everyone, its working now
