I can not access my external drive

Hey guys, i need help. I plugged in my external drive on my laptop using USB port, and it prompts me for password, after entering it,i received the message below, which does not make sense because the password is correct.I need to mention that i am new to Linux, so i don't know what to do much. Help would be much appreciated

Do you use this external drive on more than one computer? Was your laptop the computer that you used to encrypt the drive?

So this is your second thread - both concerning USB issues.Might imply the problem is sitting in your chair. Are you making sure you unmount/eject properly before yanking the device in question out ?.
For encrypted devices you should close the container before that as well.

On your other thread you got several responses, but never replied to indicate if any were useful, or if you solved the issue. That's a good way to put potential helpers off-side.
Given you seem to be comfortable with terminal coomands, re-plug the device and run this - post the output.
Code:
dmesg | tail -n 20

In addition to the answers to questions in post 2, it would be helpful if you indicated which Linux you are using as there are well over 500 and they differ in significant ways. I don't use encryption but, my understanding is that when you access an external drive, you need a password/passphrase to decrypt. Did/does that happen? The default on Linux does not allow normal users to access much outside their /home username directory so you would need the root password or need to use sudo and then enter your primary user password.

How did you make the encrypted drive? Was it on the same system or another?
The tail image you posted is only showing wifi messages, nothing from the USB drive. Have that running when you plug the drive in to view any system messages as it is being accessed.

My bad - pull the external out, plug it back in and run those commands.

And whilst it's plugged in what does this show for it ?.
Code:
lsblk -f
