I can't use the mouse!!!

Dear all

I installed a linux Mandrake 10.1 Official on my laptop. So, my laptop now contains Win XP Pro & Linux.

But, when I enter Linux the mouse is not responding to me, I can not move it...

What could be the reason and what culd be the solution???

Thanks

using the console (press CTRL + ALT + BACKSPACE to exit X/the gui, or use keyboard combinations to open a console/terminal) view the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. (a simple command to view it could be: less /etc/X11/xorg.conf). scroll down a little bit, youll notice an input section.. there should be one (or more than one) for your mouse input.. write out that section and paste it back here if you can.

also, what kind of mouse and how does it connect to the motherboard? ps/2 or usb
