I can't get my Sansa c200 working
I just picked up a Sansa c200 and I can't get it working. fdisk -l shows that the partition on it is Fat16. Mounting it as vfat results in this though:
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdc1, missing codepage or other error In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try dmesg | tail or so Also, here are the results of fdisk -l |grep sdc (sdc being the device): Disk /dev/sdc: 1027 MB, 1027342336 bytes /dev/sdc1 * 1 991 982272+ 6 FAT16 /dev/sdc2 991 1012 20480 84 OS/2 hidden C: drive However, a simple fdisk -l shows this: Disk /dev/sdc: 1027 MB, 1027342336 bytes 32 heads, 62 sectors/track, 1011 cylinders Units = cylinders of 1984 * 512 = 1015808 bytes Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sdc1 * 1 991 982272+ 6 FAT16 Partition 1 has different physical/logical beginnings (non-Linux?): phys=(0, 16, 16) logical=(0, 16, 32) Partition 1 has different physical/logical endings: phys=(122, 89, 31) logical=(990, 22, 44) Partition 1 does not end on cylinder boundary. /dev/sdc2 991 1012 20480 84 OS/2 hidden C: drive Partition 2 has different physical/logical beginnings (non-Linux?): phys=(122, 89, 32) logical=(990, 22, 45) Partition 2 has different physical/logical endings: phys=(124, 229, 41) logical=(1011, 11, 22) Partition 2 does not end on cylinder boundary. I can't mount the device, and I don't have a Windoze machine to use to load my music onto it. |
Update on Sansa situation
I got my Sansa mounted, but I still can't load music on it. Amarok doesn't recognize it... Either that or it just won't do it for some reason. Also, I've tried putting music in the mounted directory, and that doesn't work either.

Maybe try this...
Don't know if this is the same problem I had, but I needed to change the USB mode (Settings -> USB Mode) because the default is set to only work with Windows Media Player.
Good Luck |
