Hi !
I use Debian Sarge with kernel 2.4. I have an ADSL Modem SpeedStream that has an ethernet connection (my pc has a Realtek pci network card) but with this network card I use it to connect to my own network. Then, I buy an USB network adapter and I connect my modem to this device, then I use pppoeconf to configure my internet account. When I try to connect to internet I can't and appear this message when I type plog:

pppd 2.4.2 started by root, uid 0
timeout waiting for PADO packets
Unable to complete PPPOE Discovery


can anybody help me?
what is PADO packets?

hmm..I'm not sure but I use rp-pppoe myself for adsl-connection through my ethernet card. it's easy to use and worked instantly..no problems..so if you can't figure anything else out, check it out..it might at least give you some other kind of info or something.
