I bought a used Xeon server and installed Fedora Linux for intel x86 architecture. Am I using the correct kernel. Sometimes the kernel crashes on bootup. and it is not detecting all my SCSI hard disks.

what is Xeon, I know its a type of server processor but is it based on intel 686. what should I install as the operating system.

If you installed x86 that is the greatest common divisor. It should work. If it crashes 'sometimes', something is wrong, presumably with your hardware. Driver error for your SCSI devices is a theoretical possibility, but given the number of Xeon Servers running FC, it is unlikely. Besides, expect the driver code equal for all architectures.
