I am getting a new ram chip and i need to know which one to get help?
Ill give u all the facts on my desktop. I have 256mb DDR SDRAM memory (64 mb shared memory) and now have 247mb after adding a graphics card. My computer is a HP pavilion 374n i run windows XP. need anymore info i can add. I need a new ram chip bad to play games. im getting one for birthday so i need to know which one to get. I want to order it off line and around 150$ i found one on radioshack.com its a kingstone and its SDRAM DDR so i just want to know if im getting the right one. Thks for help

really all i need to know is if i buy a ram chip that says its ddr sdram and thats what i have on my computer will it be the right one?

I suggest the 1 GB module. Using On-board graphics with games will provide you with poor performance. Linux uses OpenGL which is very dependent on video RAM capacity, video RAM bandwidth, and raw GPU/VPU speed. On-board graphics fights bandwidth with the main processor and usually the shared memory is small. Buying desktop computers from brands like Dell, HP/Compaq, Gateway, and many others are ok for farmer john like people, but it is best to build the computer when it is going to be used for games. |
