I'm having problems installing my sound card driver..

I have a MSI 865PE Neo2, I haven't gotten around to installing Linux on it since I've gotten it ( I've been running windows 2003 Server ). I installed Mandrake 9.0, and I get an erroe message that's along the lines of .. "Can't find linux kernel build."
Can anyone help me?

So you have Mandy 9.0 on the machine? If so...

/sbin/lspci

So we can figure out what the card is and direct you at the correct kernel module... or really, Alsa module.

The exact error message is important, there are many reasons a machine would hork that error, most importantly, what were you trying to do at that moment?

Cheers,

Finegan

Try this command:

urpmi kernel-source

# Mandrake links
Mandrake home page
Mandrake Users website
Easy urpmi config for Mandrake
urpmi mini-HOWTO
Easy software management: Red Carpet
Maximum RPM
rpmfind
You didn't install the developmental packages? As root, command:
urpmi gcc
An Introduction to the Midnight Commander. You can install it by commanding:
urpmi mc
