What do you mean by 'not recognising'? Does your monitor actually display anything, do you get an error message, or does nothing display? Please be more precise.

(Also, out of slight curiosity, which L70 do you have? Hyundai IQ suggest there are actually two:

http://www.hyundaiq.com/pro_l70d%2B.asp
http://www.hyundaiq.com/pro_l70d%2Bphs.asp

The difference appears to be in the base. The first is listed as 'tilt stand', the latter as 'pivot and height stand')

My suspicion is that your xorg.conf is still set up for whatever monitor you had before.

In a terminal (gnome-terminal, konsole, xterm, etc...) enter this:
Code:
cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf | sed s/#.*// | egrep -v "^$" > ~/stripped-xorg.txt
and post the content of stripped-xorg.txt (you'll find it in your home directory).

(The above just takes /etc/X11/xorg.conf, strips out all the comments in it and outputs the result to ~/stripped-xorg.txt)

(BTW: This monitor then is yours? http://www.hyundaiq.com/pro_l70s%2B.asp)

monitor specs

might need to edit the xorg config using the specs for your monitor.
