HTPC on a A8N-VM CSM
 

Hi,

I have a home server running Gentoo Linux in my home. I had a hard time to get most of it working as I wished and now I believe I am ready for my next step: turn it into a media player for the house.

I have a receiver in my home w/ a digital audio inout and composite video input that I am planning to use. But I have never used any audio there and not even the tv output from my server.

It has a A8N-VM CSM mobo and I was wondering if anyone has the same board and what results were found w/ the tv out and the spdif out interfaces. What kind of adapter do I need to connect the tv out to the composite video on my receiver?

My idea is to play dvd's, use the tv as my monitor and stream music from the server to the receiver when I have gatherings at home.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
