Since many years I have more or less problems, but easy it was never.
Now I'm working with HP Officejet Pro 6869- It seemed everything was set up, but no print.Eventually I loaded hplib again. Was pretty easy, b ut when it came to printing : No FIlter.
This will guide you through the process of installing the proprietary plugin that some (but apparantly not all) HP printers need to operate on a Linux system. Ive had to do this myself.
