This question might have been answered before but i could not find a solution, im kinda new to linux so please bear with me.
I have the hp all in one psc 1210 printer and it is connected via usb on a networked computer that is running windows XP. I have mandrake 9.1 and i tried installing the printer through printer drake. It detected the printer on the computer and i installed the hpij printer driver (1.4.1). But when i print the test page nothing hapens, it says that its done printing but the printer does not do anything.
Well, did it provide you with multiple options for the driver? Suse provides 4 choices when configuring a printer. One for gnome, one for kde.. and so on.
Also, try checking for a generic driver. Its possible you could get it working by just telling the computer.. 'I got an inkjet" or.. "I got a laser"
well i just use mandrake control center to configure the printer and no there is no seperate config for kde and gnome. Also i have another printer conected on my dlink router the hp 842 deskjet and that one works fine so i dont think it is the driver i think it might have something to do with the fact that it is on a windows machine.
Ah, yeah. If its a problem printing through a MicroCrap computer, its probably the Microcrap's fault hehe Most networking problems with windows come from the fact that linux will use documented, standard protocals, and Windows wont. heh
