HP Photosmart USB printer recognised as scsi hard drive
 
I noticed something interesting whilst partitioning my systems hard drives for use with Debian Sarge. My Photosmart 7660 USB printer is recognised as a scsi hard drive instead of a printer and is even shown in the disks available to partition. This has never happened with other distros, even those based on Debian. Could this be a problem with the installer? Has anybody else had similar experiences?

What happens to it after you've run...

apt-get update

apt-get upgrade

??

It is seeing the usb card reader that is built in.

My card readers are all seen as scsi devices and mounted on sda, sda1, sda2..............

Ahh, I see that makes sense now, because on Slack I always get a /dev/sda1 being recognised. Thanks for that tip, I never thought of the usb drive on the printer as the scsi disk. :)
