HP Photosmart 7450 drivers...

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get HP Photosmart 7450 drivers for Linux Slackware 10.2?

I have searched HP's website but they claim not to have them.

Thanks

Hi,

I went to the drivers section on HP's website, all it listed was Windows drivers and a Mac OS-X driver, it had a notice there that if a driver for your system was not listed then they did not have it. So I came here for help.

Thank you for the Sourceforge link, I downloaded the '6a software but right now I am stuck. I am at: http://hplip.sourceforge.net/install/step3/index.html

and just finished STEP 7, I am already logged in as ROOT so nothing applies until I get to STEP 14. Where I am getting stuck is when I type in "make install" I get error: "make: *** No rule to make target `install'. Stop."

I have no idea what to do from here.

Help!

Never mind,

I was able to get as far as it saying that it was sending the print job to the printer, link lights on the network switch flashed for the Linux box and my server that the printer is attached to, then...... nothing happens.

Not sure if this is a problem with the data that Linux is sending or if Window cannot decypher what is being sent to it. Going to try a different version of Linux and see what happens.

Consider this posting CLOSED.

I will consider this closed...........

But if the printer is attached to a Windows system then you need to install the Windows TCP/IP based printing support;

Thanks for the reply, guess I will keep this posting going after all.

That version of Linux has been uninstalled, I'm working on reinstalling a new verion.

My Windows 2K-Pro server is already setup with printer sharing, Windows based PCs in the house are able to print to it.

The version of Linux that I was previous dealing with could print to another printer that was previous installed on that server, why it would not print to the current printer is/was beyond me.

Will see what happens tomorrow.
