HP omnibook 500 needs rfswitch?
Bought a Linksys WPC 54G because I didn't check if it used the Prism chipset (its a Broadcom and reading finegan's permanent post it looks like it is not in fact a cardbus card). I think I have it installed using NDISwrapper, but at the end it wont talk to my access point (iwlist wlan0 scan yields no results) . According to the FAQ at ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net this is probably because my laptop, an HP Omnibook 500, won't switch on the radio on the card (the alternative is that the WAP is not broadcasting it's SSID, but the card/laptop work with it under Windows). Unfortunately the rfswitch project does not cover the omnibook 500 (which came in one model with a built in usb wlan card!). So presumably no WLAN card will work with this laptop in Linux.
Just thought I should post this for the record; otherwise everything else has worked with it.
