Update:
Ok, my current configuration is Quote:
P.S. the security settings are back to ubuntu default... The other day, the printer wasnt working in windows, so I need to double check that... sorry for the break, i'll post after i check if the printer is working in my windows partition. |
Ok, so it is not working in Windows anymore either, even after removing and re adding the printer.... I never had problems witht he printer when i used it with the printer parrallel port, but since I use USB ive had problems,... though it has worked for the past 4 months... so I'm not sure whats wrong... this post may have been useless, but i'm thinking of testing the printer with someones laptop to see if it works there... what do you think?
-by the way, USB is now in use because I got a new computer with no Parallel port) |
I tested the printer with a laptop, that had both usb and parallel, neither seemed to work, (windows laptop), though i never restarted or modified the settings the computer had, since it had apparently been plugged in to the printer b4... how can i do further diagnosis on this printer?
|
Could try on a computer with parallel port
Try it on a computer with a parallel port and see if it works. (use a different cable), remove and re-insert the printer cartridges, might want to dust them off a bit. This should tell you whether it is a cable or printer problem.
