HP Laserjet Parallel printing, Fedora Core 2
 
Running a laserjet 1100 over parallel.

modprobe parport reports nothing, insmod says file exists, rebooted, however /dev/lpx dosen't work, /dev/parportx dosen't work, /dev/parx dosen work, parportx I get an invalid argument, others I get no such device. I've consuilted the greater brrain, err google many times and am out of ideas, any suggestions?

Most likely this device will exist on /dev/lp0 (that's a zero). Checkout http://linuxprinting.org/ for guides, PPD's and such.

I've tried using all 4 /dev/lp's nothing. this is really bugging me... also tried /dev/par's and /dev/parport's nothing.
