Hp LaserJet 6L not working
 

Hi all,

Just installed Redhat Fedora Core 2 Linux on my PC. Getting most things to work ok (except my printer). I have had it working in Linux before but it was Suse Linux (not sure if this makes a difference, as i'm a newbie for Linux).

When I try to install from Gnome desktop using System Setting>Printing and go through the installation wizard, one thing I have noticed it that the queue type is comming up as Locally Connected, but device comming up as ptal and not /dev/lp0 as expected - not sure if this makes a difference.

Any ideas anyone please - driving me nuts!!

I have a Laser Jet 5P with Fedora. When I try to install the printer it automatically picks locally connected with /dev/lp0.
have you tried to rescan for the printer under the printer configuration? hmm is the printer on?
